I have come to the conclusion that there really should be warning labels on formula. It should be mandatory that parents are warned of the risks they are taking when deciding to feed their baby formula. So many people are unaware. They go around thinking that formula is just as good for their baby as breastmilk. But do they really know?
Feeding your baby formula increases the risk of:
-Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
-ear infections
-respiratory infections
-allergies
-childhood cancers
-juvenile diabetes
-infectious diarrhea
-high risk of exposure to life threatening bacterial contamination (enterobacter akazakii, a contaminant found frequently in powdered formula)
-and many more possible risks to your baby’s health and development
I believe that people should be made aware. Let’s put warning labels on all formula packaging so no one makes the decision to formula feed their baby without knowing the risks involved in doing so. Let’s give people the chance to make informed choice.
